Side effect of JantovenBy Judy West from Macon Georgia on December 30, 2005 Category: Jantoven (Oral) Jantoven (5MG) was prescribed for my mother on Sept, 13, 2005, for an irregular heartbeat. On October 14, she was vomiting and had terrible diarrhea. Her internist said she had a stomach virus. The diarrhea continued through October and in November, it was so bad she was dehydrated to the point of hallucinating. She was admitted to the hospital and given fluids and antibiotics--diarrhea would not stop even with Lomotil. She stayed in the hospital one week with diarrhea the whole week. Neither her internist of her gastroentorologist would even think it could be the Jantoven. The diarrhea was so bad the first of December, we started eliminating foods and water and anything else we thought might be causing the problem. The diarrhea would not stop. December 6, we took her off the Jantoven and the diarrhea started to slack off. Today, Decem,ber 30, 2005, the diarrhea has stopped and she is back to normal. I just cannot believe these doctors would not consider Jantoven as the cause of her diarrhea. Thank you for you time. |
