Metoprolol Succinate - can it cause sleeplessness?

Metoprolol Succinate

My GP has recently increased my dosage from a 95 mg tablet daily to 190 mg daily, due to increased hypertension.

Since taking this drug, I have experienced sleeplesness,and moreso upon an increase in the dosage. I now experience no sleep for an average of 3 to 4 nights per week.

Can this drug cause sleeplessness in some patients?
