My sister takes Lovastatin. Her face has blown up,. Can this drug do this?

To Whom It may concern:

My sister has was perscribed "Lovastatin"" She started taken a few days ago. She has had many bowel moments in the coarse of a day, plus her face swelled up the size of a baloon. Can this happen with this drug and what other side effects are their?
