Why prescribe Ferrous sulfate when it is contraindicated?By posit from philippines on May 17, 2006 Category: Ferrous sulfate hello good day to you. i am a student nurse and i am awfully confused with my patient’s medication. you see her diagnosis is hemolytic anemia. she has several drugs like omeprazole, prednisone, multivitamins, sucralfate and ferrous sulfate. now, i have read an article describing the contraindications of this drug which includes the diagnosis of my patient. i haven’t had time to ask the attending physician since our setting is a pubhlic hospital, the physician is very busy and has very less time to talk to students like me. please help me find answers to my question. why is the attending physician of my patient giving her ferrous sulfate when it is contraindicated for her condition? thank so much in advance. may God bless us all. sincerely yours, posit |
