Triple Antibiotic Ointment

I have used triple antibiotic on different places on my skin before and I seem to break out in a rash on the area applied...possible allergic reaction to the TAO. I have tried to put it on a small-mild burn and the ointment seemed to break my skin out into a rash. I have attempted before to put it on an area on my face which seems to be more sensitive and the skin would peel where the ointment was applied. Is there something else I could use in place of the TAO for simple open areas on the skin which I may get over the counter.
