Alprazolam has been helping me with my anxiety for seven years. The drug has been a godsend for me since I was 16 years old when I started to suffer from anxiety. My doctor has me take 1 mg a day and I have never had any side effects. It also seems to be helping with my fibromyalgia. I’m told it can be habit forming. Since I cannot take the chance of not being able to take it all, however, I will never take more than what my doctor suggests I take.

My doctor prescribed .5 mg of Alprazolam to be taken once or twice a day, as I needed them. I started to take them only about once a month but eventually began to take one each week and ultimately one a day. Since I’d rather not take them, I switched to ½ a pill a day. That seemed to work pretty well so I tried ¼ of a tablet, which did not work. When I don’t take ½ a pill a day, I feel numbness and pain in my left arm. As soon as I take my ½ pill I feel much better, however unless I can find some other way to control my anxiety I may never be able to stop taking them.
