Stem Cell Research Advantages I am wondering what the advantages of stem cell research are. Currently I have found out that there are advantages to using ES and EG stem cells rather than adult stem cells, but I would like to know more. The three predominant goals often argued for pursuing stem cell research are:

• increasing scientific knowledge with respect to embryonic development and the ways it is applied
• increasing chances of discovering cures for such diseases as Parkinson's disease , Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, strokes, spinal cord damage, bone disorders, and more
• offering pharmaceutical companies alternatives to animal usage for drug screening
