Taking Yasmin at different times

I have read the yasmin website and the little brochures that come with the pills. I know that for the pill to be 100% effective, it has to be taken at the same time of the day for the 21 days as prescribed. My question is: At the same time you mean at...

16a64Hannah359abHi Lauren! I recently found The Holy Kale and am LOVING it!! Thank you so much for this post; you have inresipd me to FINALLY, after 6 years, end my use of birth control.Like many other women, I shed a good amount (50% or more) of my hair starting about 2 months after first beginning taking the pill (yasmin) I remember my parents complaining about my extra long showers during that time; most of my time in the shower I spent trying to pull/wash off the clumps of hair I was losing. My hair shed for about 6 months and then slowed But the quality of my hair has never been the same. Before, it was so thick I could barely wrap a ponytail holder around it twice; After, I had to wrap it around my hair 4 TIMES. As vain as it probably sounds to most people, that was the most depressing experience of my life.I went to numerous physicians at Kaiser to discuss my experience and to ask for suggestions. Not a SINGLE one of them agreed that birth control was the root of my hair loss. How frustrating is that?!So I carried on for a couple years, blaming stress and other things for my hair loss Until I tried getting OFF the pill About 2 months after I stopped taking it, my hair loss started back up again Almost as bad as the first time! I got back on the pill shortly after that and have been on it ever since. My hair hasn't shed an abnormal amount since those first two times, but the quantity and texture are still much different than before; my strands were once very THICK, and I would never have described my hair as fine Now my hair is baby fine and there seems to be much less of it. I can REALLY see the difference when I look at my sisters' hair is. Neither of them have ever taken the pill and they both have incredibly thick hair, like mine was.So now that I am off the pill FOR GOOD, I am anticipating more hair loss soon Is there anything you can recommend to stop or slow my hair loss? And to get it back to its original state? I started taking Biotin, Zinc, and Vitamin A daily. I also have heard apple cider vinegar is good to take. What would you recommend? Are there any shampoos you've found that help stimulate growth?Thank you, Lauren!Hannah 15a

I took Yasmin 28 for approximately 5 years after changing from Desogen. The only reason that I changed pills was because my gynecologist had a bunch of free samples. It was my yearly exam time and they decided I should change. I gained five pounds that I could not get rid of despite the fact that I run 5 times a week. I did not realize how bad it dampened my sex drive until I stopped taking the pill in order to get pregnant. I was able to get pregnant without a problem. After I gave birth I got back on Yasmin for about 2 more years. I guess I chose that one out of habit. I had migraines each month that specifically coincided with the time period that you took the placebo pills. The headaches lasted the entire 7 days. I finally quit all birth control pills. I lost the weight, sex drive increased and the headaches ceased. However, I began to have bad periods that were associated with horrific cramping, almost like labor and real heavy clots. My doctor put me on Loestrin. I instantly gained 10 pounds but the cramps and heavy bleeding stopped. Then the yeast infections started and the need to get up and urinate all night long. I have now been changed to ortho cyclen.
