Neurontin and Methyl Dopa

What happens if you take neurontin for nerve pain and methyl dopa to lower blood pressure at the same time? I read that you should not take both of these medications together. Please let me know. Thank you, Cheryl

Hi Michelle, do not feel alone. My doctor would send me for test that I tuohght would save my life and then schedule an appointment to review the test two or three months later. It is crazy. Are you only taking neurontin for pain? I take that and four other medications for pain. I still suffer with chronic pain.I was not able to participate in much of the festivities last week either. I was able to visit some of the blogs and leave comments. I was so sick that I could not sit in my computer chair long enough to listen to the “blog talk radio” programs. This week seems to be starting out much better. September is “Pain Awareness Month”. Therefore, you can still blog with others who are suffering with chronic pain at the “American Pain Foundation” site.I hope you are feeling better.Be well

I was given NEURONTIN for chronic back pain and when combined with Tremmodol it helped tremendously with the back pain.

As I have begun to improve I slowly stopped taking the Tremmodol.

I would like to stop the Neurontin as well but I am weaning myself off slowly.

I am noticing a lot of changes in myself during this.

Physically I feel tired and unmotivated. I also get dizzy spells, light headedness and feel chest heaviness.

Emotionally I feel teary and 'low' and mentally I feel frustrated and I am angry and snappy with people for no reason.

I do not like this feeling of bleakness and lethargy. I dont leave the house much and if I do I just want to get home again. I am becoming quite anti social and Its not me at all.

Has anyone else come off Neurontin with effects like this and how long do they last?

I have just started taking this medication. It seems to relieve the pain some, taking the edge off it at least. I am wondering if it works better the longer you take it, as I've only been taking it for four days. I'm a little concerned about the side effects though, wondering if they go away as well. After the third dose I was very tired, after the fourth dose I become off balance and dizzy feeling, with the fifth dose I have started itching. With the different side effects each time, I'm wondering if I should call my doctor.
