Drug Interactions

I have been prescribed Bactrim DS for staph infection. I am having really bad stomach pain and shooting pains in my head. I am also taking Lamictal (an anticonvulsant) and Metformin (Diabtes). Could this be causing the problem? Thanks

would there be a particular reason to add Bactrim onto a regimen with Methotrexate

We have a guy that is on Methotrexate and reviewing his profile is also on Bactrim DS Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays. What would be the use in this case for Bactrim to be onboard?

What a horrible drug to take, especially since there are normally alternatives. I took it 4 days for an infected cut. I became very lethargic yet couldn't sleep. Then I lost my appetite. Next I developed a fever that kept increasing to 101.7. Then I developed a headache, dizziness, sore joints in my hands, nausea, plus it causes decreased urine production. My doctor told me to stop taking it, but 2 days after stopping, I've developed a rash on my arms, back and neck. What a miserable experience. Doctors should limit their use of this drug. I've learned just today that 2 of my friends are also allergic to sulfa drugs such as Bactrim-that sure sounds to me like a high rate of problems. All I can say is make your doctor prescribe something else!

The doctor prescribed Bactrim DS to me to treat rosecea and acne. The good news is, I can see an improvement in my face just after two days. The bad news is, the first dosage gave me a headache and I could not get to sleep that first night. Today, the second day, I have been suffering from excessive bloating and abundant gas all day. My doctor wants me to take this for two months, which sounds like a long time if I will suffer from this constant pressure in my stomach the entire time. Fortunately, this is the only side effect I have experienced.

I took Bactrim to fight infection. I'm still not sure if it worked or not. What I do know is that I had an allergic reaction to the medication, which was very scary. Only a few hours after taking Bactrim, I woke up in a cold sweat. That cold sweat was accompanied by a high fever, a lack of appetite, aching muscles, and chills. After suffering from these symptoms for nearly a day, I decided to stop. Thankfully, I am now feeling normal again.
