Action/Kinetics:

1/2: 4-5 hr, depending on urinary pH.
Uses:
Attention-deficit disorders in children over 6 years of age. Obesity (use controversial and often not recommended).
Contraindications:
Use for obesity. Attention-deficit disorders in children less than 6 years of age.
How Supplied:
Tablet: 5 mg;
Tablet, Extended Release: 5 mg, 10 mg, 15 mg
Dosage
?Tablets
ADD in children 6 years and older.
Initial: 5 mg 1-2 times/day; increase in increments of 5 mg/day at weekly intervals until optimum dose is reached (usually 20-25 mg/day).
?Extended-Release Tablets
ADD in children 6 years and older, maintenance.
20-25 mg once daily.
Obesity.
Either one 5-mg tablet 30 min before each meal or 10-15 mg of the long-acting form in the morning. Do not exceed more than a few weeks of treatment. |
