Classification: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory analgesic

Action/Kinetics: Peak serum levels: 1-2 hr. Peak effect: 2-3 hr. Duration: 4-6 hr. t 1/2: 2-3 hr. Onset, as antiarthritic: Within 2 days; maximum effect: 2-3 weeks. Ninety-nine percent protein bound. Food (but not antacids) delays absorption and decreases the total amount absorbed.

Uses: Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, mild to moderate pain. Investigational: Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, prophylaxis of migraine, migraine due to menses, sunburn.

Contraindications: Use in pregnancy and children less than 12 years of age. Renal dysfunction.

Special Concerns: Safety and efficacy in children have not been established.

Additional Side Effects: GU: Dysuria, hematuria, cystitis, interstitial nephritis, nephrotic syndrome. Overdosage has caused tachycardia and hypotension.

How Supplied: Capsule: 200 mg, 300 mg; Tablet: 600 mg

Dosage
?Capsules, Tablets Rheumatoid and osteoarthritis.
Adults: 300-600 mg t.i.d.-q.i.d. Adjust dose according to response of client.
Mild to moderate pain.
Adults: 200 mg q 4-6 hr. Maximum daily dose for all uses: 3,200 mg.
