Aspirin (AS-pir-in), Caffeine (kaf-EEN), Propoxyphene Hydrochloride (proe-POX-i-feen hye-droe-KLOR-ide) Treats various types of pain. Propoxyphene belongs to a class of drugs called narcotic analgesics.

You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to propoxyphene, aspirin, or caffeine. Medicines that contain aspirin should not be taken by people with active ulcers, bleeding problems, or children or teenagers with symptoms of the flu or a viral infection.

• Your doctor will tell you how much to take and how often.
• May be taken with food to lessen stomach upset.
• Drink plenty of fluids to help avoid constipation.
If a dose is missed:
• Take the missed dose as soon as possible.

• You should not use two doses at the same time.

• This medicine can be habit-forming. You should not use more than your doctor ordered.

• If you have taken this medicine for several weeks, ask your doctor before stopping. You may need to take smaller and smaller doses before stopping completely.
• This medicine may make you drowsy or dizzy. Be careful if driving a car or using machinery.

Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects:

• Fast or slow heartbeat
• Trouble breathing
• Hives, skin rash, itching
• Severe confusion or tiredness
• Yellow skin or eyes
If you notice these less serious side effects, talk with your doctor:
• Drowsiness, dizziness, or weakness
• Dry mouth, nausea or vomiting
• Constipation
• Headache or blurred vision
