• Your doctor will prescribe your exact dose and tell you how often it should be given.
• An IV infusion is medicine that is put directly into your body through one of your veins.
• This medicine should be given by a person trained to give IV medicine, such as a nurse. Sometimes you, a family member, or a friend can be taught to give your medicine.
• If you are receiving IV medicine, check the bag to make sure there are no leaks. Also make sure the solution is clear.
If a dose is missed:
• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Space out evenly the rest of your doses for that day.

• Make sure your doctor knows if you have liver disease or myasthenia gravis.
• If your infection does not improve, or if it gets worse while taking this medicine, talk to your doctor.
• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before taking erythromycin.
• If this medicine gives you diarrhea, talk to your doctor before taking medicine to stop the diarrhea.

Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects:

• Skin rash, hives, or itching
• Trouble breathing
• Swelling of the face, throat, or lips
• Yellow skin or eyes
• Dark urine
• Severe vomiting
If you notice these less serious side effects, talk with your doctor:
• Nausea or upset stomach
• Diarrhea
• Sore mouth or tongue
• Pain or redness where the IV is given
