yeast infection w/o itching or burning? Quote | Reply

I've been to a doctor at a health clinic and at my last pap test she told me I had an yeast infection (just by looking I guess) and was telling me the symptoms of the discharge...however I have no itching or burning and my discharge has been like this for 6 months.. (it's texture is anything from gooey to a bit watery, cloudy white, sour smelling, and theres a lot of it..)
The time before that they said I had a little bit of an yeast infection however again I didn't do anything because theres no itching or burning.
It's been like this for a while, but my guess is that it's not normal.
I've been sexually active before but not lately. And I have been on othro-tricylclen for about 3 years.

If your health care provider told you that this is a yeast infection that you are dealing with, then you need to be treated for it. There are different types of yeast infections and the symptoms can vary for any particular person. Your description sounds like it is a yeast infection so please seek treatment for it. Any untreated infection can cause a multitude of further health problems.

You can buy Monostat or any of the off-brand medicines. Go to your local Wal Mart or Pharmacy and ask the Pharmacist for help. Don't be embarrassed - they are there to help you find what you need.

If left untreated, yeast infections often clear up on their own, during your next period. However, Recurring yeast infections may be difficult to prevent or cure. There are significant differences between occasional, easily treatable yeast infections and recurring infections that can seriously affect a woman's life. Women who have recurring yeast infections should be tested for underlying causes (like Diabetes or a weakened immune system) so that the proper treatment can be chosen.
