Hey Guest, how are you doing? Prostatism often has its roots in youth when sex stimulation is high and relief is low. Petting, for example, over-extends sexual tension without normal release within a reasonable time, thus keeping the prostate in an overworked state for too long and too often - continence may be even more injurious to the prostate - the manufactured sperm is retained with no place to go, putting an additional burden on that gland. (Oppenheimer, Keuhnelian 428) To prevent an enlarged prostate (prostatism), all vaible males need to have periodic release of sperm. Sexual activity should be kept at a low level, alcohol and spices held in moderation. (Oppenheimer, Keuhnelian 428) In addition, the urge to urinate must be obeyed immediately; the bladder should not be allowed to become full, or it may be injured. In milder cases, treatment is palliative - the patient should avoid chilling, forgo long trips in cars, trains, of planes, avoid damp places, and use hard seats on chairs. (Oppenheimer, Keuhnelian 428) A Urologist would check the condition of the prostate by finger examination inside the rectum. Prostatism is not a disease to ignore, if unattended, dare consequenses, including stones in the kidney or bladder or ureter, inflammation of the bladder, nephfitis, kidney failure, uremia, and if the prostate is very enlarged, removal of all or part of the gland is essential. (Oppenheimer, Keuhnelian 428) It is recommended young men between the ages 20 - 34 should examine themselves once a month.
