Help! Emergency question about pregnancy Quote | Reply

Ok well i need any help i can get right now. One my of my close
friends is in a prediciment. She may be pregnant and thats one of the
least things she needs right now. I cant tell her to get an abortion
because personally i dont believe in them. So it'd be contridicting
everything i believe in. If she is pregnant it would be in the early
stages like a week or something. SO i need any help i can get on what
to do for her. Like how she can tell like right away and stuff like
that. I've already told her to just stay calm, relax, and to get a
pregnancy test and that i'll be here for her. But anything ya'll can
help me out on would be wonderful right now. thanks

Hey windygirl, that's some situation your friend might be in. does
she know yet for sure whether she is pregnant (has she taken the test
yet)? although i also feel very strongly against abortion, i would
suggest some alternative to bringing a little baby into this world.
it would be great that her parents know right away if she is pregnant
since they can give unmatched support for her. there is no good
alternatives for this type of situation sometimes. if she is against
abortion as well, she should really look for family or friends to help
out. she should also see a physician if she hasn't yet. please
let us know what happens with her and wish her good luck from me...
take care. mroberts

Hey Windygirl, how are you doing? I have heard all of that before,
"my friend has a problem" and it always turn out to the one who is
telling about the friends problem that has the problem. Are you sure
that it is your friend and not you? I wouldn't want to think that you
are tring to cover up for yourself. I know that when a friend is in
trouble and you are tring to help, it can be a lot like flying an
airplane for the first time. The results are often fatal. The point
is, when you or a friend is in trouble, try to take matters in your
own hands. Let a professional help you. The professional don't have to
fly the plane for you, but they could save you from wasting a lot of
time learning from trial and error, and may even reduce the impact of
a mistake, and avoid costly mistakes that you really can't afford to
make. Every mistake does not offer a second chance; nor does they give
a warning or a slap on the wrist. A list of resources are availible

I remember going through this 6 years ago. I WAS the pregnant chick
and I was freaking out. Premarital sex was a big no-no in my family
and to compound the issue, the guy was an abussive ass who was already
married. My parents were less than thrilled. But I worked full-time
took 12 units of college courses and pulled it together so that I
could live in family student housing at the University I transferred
to in my last trimester of pregnancy. I won't lie and say it was
easy...some days were the hardest days of my like, but NOTHING AND I
MEAN NOTHING compares to the amazing gift my son has been in my
life....he is a wonderful, loving gift from god. I went through
ridiculous drama with his father (he ended up in prison for spousal
abuse) and I met a wonderful teacher when my son was 10 months old. We
got married and now have another 2 children ( a 3 year old daughter
and a 5 month old son). I stayed in school throughout this and was
VERY poor when it was just Jack (my eldest) and me, but the love and
beauty i have in my family is something I wouldn't trade for anything.
My parents freaked when this first all started, but they came around
and now they adore their grandchildren. And as for me, I'm finishing
up law school at age 26 and will be working for a great firm in S.F.
So, just remind your friend that this can be blessing even though it
seems so terrible right now.

If she is pregnant and on medications, she should see a doctor and disscuss all her options with a doctor. It depends a lot on the medications themselves, if they are harmless during initial stages of pregnancy or during breastfeeding. YOu can do beside her but she needs professional help. If she is using drugs that must not be used during pregnancy, she needs to use any form of birth controls in the future.
