Trinessa Pregnancy Quote | Reply

I just found out that I am 6-8 weeks pregnant and have been on Trinessa for the last 10 months. Prior to that I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for almost 10 years with no problems.

Trinessa was recalled by the FDA last month and I would like to know if anyone else has gotten pregnant while on this pill. Just found out about the recall while I was at the OB-GYN this morning. This sounds like a potential class-action suit. Did anyone else end up pregnant while on this generic?

Please Contact An Attorney e.g. Alexander, Hawes & Audet, LLP for Additional Advice [In reply to] Quote | Reply

Although, I have not found any other Trinessa users that have became pregnant, according to the Food And Drug Administration (FDA), Trinessa was recalled because the active Norgestimate component of TriNessa tablets failed its "stability assay." A brief description of the stability assay is described below by Di L, Kerns EH, Chen H, et al:

The assay uses the advanced capabilities of a high-performance liquid chromatography instrument that is present in many pharmaceutical research laboratories. The samples are prepared automatically by a temperature-controlled autosampler. The samples are delivered to the stability matrices, mixed, incubated, and injected at selected time points during the reaction time course. This automated process occurs without operator intervention, thus allowing 96 experiments to be run with 0.5 h of a scientist's time compared to 8 h for the same study when performed manually.

As an Attorney told me, "there is always some negligence." In this respect, you should contact a Personal Injury Attorney in you area for advice in seeking money for the damages that have occured. (see also class action lawsuit)

Hope this answers your question!

Everyone that has been effected as a result of the recall of Trinessa, please contact Attorney Michael G. Smith of Dover Dixon & Horne, PLLC. He requests that everyone call and provide him with more details about your case.

So far, he believes he could, atleast, get reimburstment for the price of the medication. However, more details would allow for him to assess each indivisual case, fully.

In response, I have been on ortho-try-cyclen for many years, switched to Trinessa last month and became pregnant, I am 37 years old, and now this has caused a lot of grief between me and my 42 year old spouse who we though we were done having kids. [reply]

I have been taking Trinessa for 1.5 years and also just found out that I am 8-10 weeks pregnant. I am very frustrated by this situation because everyone is assuming that I must have mis-taken the prescription. This did not happen and I was very faithfull to taking it at the same time every evening. It is good to hear that there are other people in the same boat as me!! I jsut hope that taking the pill for the first two months of the pregnancy really won't hurt the baby like the dr.'s are telling me.

Well I went to the Dr. they say i am 6-7 weeks pregnant. I received a letter from Risk Management for Watson Pharamcueticals but hve nto filled it out and mailed it back to them yet. I contacted a local attorney and am waiting to hear back from them. I am really sick right now but it is not from my pregnancy but it really sucks because they will not treat me or run furhter tests because i am pregnant. I am in severe pain and there is nothing i can do. Just wanted to follow up since my last post.
