I was recently infused for 43 days with Gentamicin to combat a staph infection. The treatment was successful. However, tests by a neurologist confirm that my vestibular system, in his words, has been destroyed. I am in rehab but I have been advised that results will be limited.
Is there a recognized standard treatment or guideline (number of infusions) that is recognized as prudent and beyond which there is a high probability of significant damage?
