Pain in the scrotum and undecended testicle in alwasy a Medical Emergency. When the testicle becomes arrested in the abdomen, the spermatic cord that hols the testicle can become twisted (torsion). This can obstruct circulation and cause the testicle to become gangrenous. Immediate surgery to straighten the cord and restore circulation can prevent the testicle from being removed. Hope this answers your question! REFERENCE(S) 1. Penn State Milton S.
