Need to lose some weight, not sure where to start Quote | Reply

Who am I?
I'm a 21 year girl, I suffer from Psoriatic Arthritis and very recently my doctor has told me I need to lose some weight as it's aggravating my joints.

The problem
My first problem is that I'm not sure where to start and how, I'm also a huge nibbler which doesn't help in the slightest. Coming back from Uni my eating patterns have slipped and I have a bad habit of eating late in the evening which I know isn't good.

Does anyone have any advice about where I could look for eating plans or anything like that? As a full time worker at the moment, advice for things that could be taken in a lunchpack would be great. :)

Thanks!

Fresh fruit and some veggetables like carrots can be carried, yogurt, dark bread. No snacks what so ever!NO sweets and sodas! NO fried foods! FInd some time to exercise, three times/week is enough, even two is fine if you don't have the time.

I have started going swimming most days and I hit the gym once a week for a workout. I've already dropped a waist size - yay me!

I've started packing my lunchboxes with healthier foods including cooked rice and peas or cold pasta. I think it's gonna take time but I think I'm on the right path :D

I agree with the first response but I don't agree about not snacking. You can snack if you do it right, for us nibbler's its the only way to eat healthy and stay on track. Take fruit and/or veggies with you to work, eat them after work, and if you are still hungry after dinner eat some there. You can never get enough fruit or veggies in your diet. Most people dont even get all 5 servings in by the end of the day. Just doing this I have lost 2 pounds in 2 weeks alone. I am starting excersizing as well. (excuse my spelling) All you need for excersizing to start is at least 30 minutes of cardio. That's it! You don't have to over do it to see results, and it will help encourage you to stay on an excersizing program. Good Luck Wink
