Classification: Corticosteroid, topical

Action/Kinetics: Has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects.

Uses: Relief of inflammatory and pruritic dermatoses, including eczema, atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, seborrhea.

Contraindications: Use in children less than 12 years old, use for more than 2 weeks, to treat rosacea or perioral dermatitis, and use on face, groin, axillae.

Special Concerns: May suppress hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis at doses as low as 2 g/day. Use with caution during lactation.

Side Effects: Dermatologic: Burning sensation, itching, stinging, irritation, dryness, pruritus, erythema, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acneform eruptions, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, skin maceration, secondary infection, striae, millaria, cracking and fissuring of the skin, skin atrophy, numbness of fingers, telangiectasia. Miscellaneous: Cushing's syndrome.

How Supplied: Cream: 0.05%; Gel: 0.05%

Dosage
?Topical gel Dermatoses.
Apply thin layer to affected skin b.i.d. once in the morning and once in the evening. Rub in gently and completely. Use no more than 50 g/week.
