Novarel and Weight Loss

I recently began a weight management program at an internal medicine office. I was given Novarel syringes and prescribed an appetite suppressant. I have since read that Novarel has not been proven to assist in weight loss.

I am a healthy 41 year old who has never had health problems, and I have given birth to 3 healthy children. We do not plan to have other children.

My questions are:

If there is no reason to take Novarel for weight loss, why would the doctor prescribe it?

What adverse effects could there be to my ovaries, uterus, or other areas of my body from taking Novarel?

hello i am a 44 year old female and needing to lose weight. i was reading about this shot novarel. if it doenot help in weight lose , im like everyone else, then why is it prescribed for weight lose. i havent tried the drug yet , because i havent been able to find a doctor here in logan west virginia that gives the shot. i would like to have some proven facts , that it does help with weight lose. i would like to have some info on this . if anyone knows about this drug . please feel free to contact me here. i would greatly appreciate it, sincerely , debbie
