Using face lotion with Clindagel

I am using Clindagel Topical Gel and I was wondering if I could use Neutrogena Oil-Free Face lotion with it as well? I have been washing my face, then applying the lotion, and then waiting for it to dry then applying Clindagel. I am also on Retina-Micro that I am applying at night and I was wondering the same thing; if it was okay to put face lotion on before applying the medication because I am very dry.
