Alavert D usage

My wife currently takes Alavert D on a daily basis. She has allergy and sinus problems, and has been taking Alavert since I've known her. Also she is a daily user of Nasonex. My questions are: Is this normal for someone with allergies to use this on a daily basis? Also, Is their any possibility she is chemicaly dependent on Alavert D? We all know what some people use it for. Can the drug be addictive in its over the counter pill form? Curious....
