Coverage for pregnancy - Cobra and losing existing coverageBy wanda gibson from sparta,tn on August 09, 2006 Category: Tennessee Health Insurance My daughter is pregnant and found out today that her husband will be out of a job after next Friday, where he has been employed for almost 12 years. The plant is letting people go that have been employed after 1988. He will have insurance for 3 months then it will have to be cobra, which will be very hard to pay, they also have a child 10 years old. County employees in White County has only had insurance coverage offered for a few weeks and my daughter did not take it because her husband had the coverage. Today she inquired about coverage now and was told that she could not take it now--she was not told when it would be offered again or if it would be. If it is offered again can they turn her down because she is pregnant? Thanks |
