Bicarbonate of soda tablets

I would like some inforamtion on Bicarbonate of Soda Tablets. I am having trouble taking medince for my cholestrol problem, and I was told in the mean time to take Bicarbonte of Soda Tablets. I do not know where I can find them in the stores, and also I would like to know if you have any information on this item. As to how they may help.
