IV hydrocortisone

I recently had extensive abdominal surgery......i also have addsions disease......during surgery and after surgery was given 100mg IV push(200mg total) along with my daily 40mg of oral hydrocortisone

i became puffy but not extensively........how long before the body regulates itself from the added amounts and i do not feel as though i have the extra retention?.......
