Propoxacet and memory loss problems?By Steve from Davenport, IA on July 11, 2006 Category: Propoxacet (Oral) My doctor prescribed Propoxacet for me a year ago. I was struck with RA in May of '05. I was 55 at the time and it was a very dramatic, rapid onset. I take Methotrexate and propoxacet. I go through about a hundred caplets of propoxacet a month. I'm going through about 3 and a half tabs a day and supplement that with ibuprofen. I take about 8 to 10 200mg tabs a day, so I guess that I would consider myself an "undermedicator" at this time. I was an A student in nursing school and had to drop out due to the RA and advancing otosclerosis-I have a 90% hearing loss and that is fading now as well, therefore I have applied for disability. Sorry... didn't mean to turn this into an article but wanted to give some backgound. I mention the schooling because I was a good student who got good grades. My memory is so poor at times now that I can't imagine being able to attend school. I'll be 57 next month. Sometimes I find myself grasping to remember the simplest things. I'm frustrated, frightened and angry. I do not use alcohol or smoke. If you asked me to choose between the propoxacet and my memory loss (if that's what is giving me memory problems) I'll stick with the propoxacet. I went to 2 tabs a day for about two weeks. It was miserable and I don't think my memory got better. Do you hear of patients taking these meds who have memory loss problems? Thank You |
