Pin worms

my american friend and her children have pinworms and cant rid themselves of them because she doesent like cleaning her home however she and her family live happily with this and the only ones suffering from symptoms are her two children who wake every night with itching.

to my horror she did not tell us her family where carrying this infection and invited myself and my children to there home on a number of occassions. My youngest son who is four has been toilet trained since he was two years and night trained since three however he started to wet himself again and seemed to be scratching his buttocks on occasion i thought he has a sore behind and would put sodacream to ease any discomfort weeks passed and things did not get any better so i took him to the doctor who tested for a urinary tract infection that came up clear they said it is common for four year olds to wet themselves on occasion and sent me home some weeks later i started to itch around my anal area on occasion i put i down to two many baths or showers over months it gradually got more frequent and my front passage started to itch also i was awakening during the night and so was my little boy we were both eating and craving huge amounts of sugary drinks and sweets.

But again i thought our bodys were tired and needed a boost i just could not work out what was wrong untill i became ill with a urinary tract infection which led to a kidney infection after being treated with a dose of antibiotics the itching in my buttocks and viginia became uncontrolable i was crying and my husband had to call a doctor to the house who said to put some ice on the area but things did not get any better a few days later i saw another doctor and when i explained it felt like things crawling in and out of my back passage she immediately said you have pin worms she had not seen a case of this in years and i had never heard of it before.

she gave me mebendazole 100mg to take one straight away and one two weeks later and my little boy had the same treatment the change in him was incredable he stopped wetting himself stopped awakening in the night and stopped eating sweet things however i have had three treatments of the drug over six weeks and i seem to have them again i still feel crawling and awake during the night my house is spottless and cleaned vacumed polished every day bedding is washed and changed daily and strict guide lines are followed with toilet use.

however this was always done anyway every thing that can possibly be done we have followed to the extreme. my husband does not have pin worms nor does my six year old child why do i still have them after all the medication.

i ended all contact with my friend because i was very angry with her she knew my little boy was suffering and did not tell us while cutting her children sugar intake and watching mine feed the worms and being sympathetic to my childs bad eating habit and my tiredness.

I would definately say now that i have been dealing with this problem for at least 5 months at first my stools where covered in eggs like peices of rice but now their seems to be the odd one what i want to know is does the medication kill the eggs laid inside the digestive tract and how long does the first dose last inside to kill any worms that may hatch during the two week period also they say that the worms lay the eggs outside the anal area at night why can i feel them crawling in and out in the mid afternoon also please can you help with any advice.
