unusual side effects of brovex on toddlers

Can Brovex HC cause toddlers (her age is 20months) to become aggressive or more difficult to control their own behavior? My grand-daughter has become more excitable and aggressive in her play with other toddlers her age. She has bitten 3 children in a fifteen minute time frame while at preschool. She has bitten before but was easily redirected with time out or other disciplinary tools. When she bit them she started to cry. The medication also causes her to be much sedated, which I know is a known side effect of hydrocodone. If the Brovex HC is causing her to be excited or hyper, how can it also cause the sedation? I wonder if she should continue on this medication. Thank you for any information you can give on this matter.

I have the same problem

You aren't alone martha. I have a 2 yr old son. He developed the croupe and the doctors put him on Brovex HC. He suddenly became very aggressive. Yesterday he pulled a little girls hair OUT! You definitely need to get your granddaughter on a diff. med. Contact her pediatrician and explain all the side effects experienced by the patient so that they can make the appropriate adjustments. Spread the word, too. I know I was tearing my hair out yesterday till I found your posting. I was able to change my son to a different med. that cost about $20 without insurance. I believe the name of it was Pediatex. I want to thank you for speaking up, & I hope this helps. Good luck!
