Allergy to Metformin Hcl?

I am having red slghtly flushed skin, neck, face, knees, palms of hands (oral temp 97.7 F)-I just was awakened by this approx 2.5 hrs after taking metformin hcl at night. (I take 1000 mg Metformin BID = 2000 mg daily) I recently noticed this flushing and heat at my knees during the day too. This is a similar reaction I had when eating the fish salmon or after taking a salmon oil capsule. Any relation? Other drugs I take at noc is Lantus Insulin and estrodial jel for HRT. What do you think? There is no macular rash only slightly redened skin - slightly so that I am asking myself "is it really red?" and a sort of hot feeling. - no swelling, no airway problems.
Thanks for your response,
Linda H
