Doseage of BudeprionBy Douglas from Lancaster PA on April 16, 2006 Category: Budeprion SR (Oral) I have been taking one Budeprion 150 mg twice a day for about 6 months and while it seemed to relieve my severe depression at first its effects have dropped to the point where I want to spend every weekend and every hour I am not working in bed. Except for work, I have become totally incapable of doing anything except eating, sleeping and watching TV. My memory has become nonexistent to the point where I sometimes cannot even remember how to speak or the words to use. Technical information that I need in my job comes and goes like the wind. I have recently experienced bouts of crying while watching even mildly sad things on TV. I recently took a couple of on-line depression tests and in both cases it came back as severe depression and suggested that I get immediate medical help. While I have no intention of doing anything in the near future, constant thoughts of suicide permeate my thoughts and that if and when things get too bad I can always end it. Since I do not want it to go that far at this time, I think that a modification of dose or medication is necessary. My family doctor treats me like a hypochondriac since I have been very depressed for many years and I am reluctant to return. What increased dosage would be appropriate for me to suggest to my doctor for a man over 50 years old of 250 lbs? Help!!! |
Ever tried any vitamins and herbs? This sounds really bad. I just started taking Budeprion a few days ago and I also like that it gives me more energy that Effexor couldn't give me. Have you ever tried B-complex vitamins. They give you more energy but I don't take them because they always seem to increase my appetite and I'm trying to lose weight. And the herb Ginkgo Biloba can also work as an anti-depressant and is good for memory. But if you ask the doctor if you could try this herb while you're on the medication most likely they'll tell you not to take it or any other herbs. So it's recommended that you try this herb alone or with the B-vitamins. Best wishes. It is possible wellbutrin is not the right drug for you there are many alternatives. Do Not Try To Tough This Out! Good Luck and God Bless By matthew from washington,dc on June 05, 2006 | Reply | Other supplements you might want to tryI just found out that the amino acid l-tyrosine is also used for energy and alertness. I have tried amino acids before, either mixed or individually such as 5-htp and l-carnitine but I've never tried l-tyrosine so I will to see if it is a good substitute for caffeine like some people claimed. You can read more about it here: www.raysahelian.com/tyrosine.html But take caution because it increases heart rate and can cause irritability, anxiety, etc. if you take too much. I'm the one who said that I had just started taking Budeprion and I had said that it gave me more energy but then I realized that the reason why was because when I took my first dose it had only been less than 24 hrs. since I had taken Effexor so I actually have more energy when I take both anti-depressants. I don't know why but when I take either by themselves it doesn't give me more energy. Plus my mood is also improved. I'm just glad that my doctor gave me both because I had told her that the Effexor was also helping me with anxiety. So, you might want to ask your doctor to see if taking 2 kinds of anti-depressants might help. Good luck. By Ginger from Downey, CA on June 21, 2006 | Reply | Write a Reply |
