I was watching a show on the Discovery channel called 48 HRS Hard Evidence. The story was about a woman who was an RN, who had an affair with a married surgeon. He eventually left his wife and he and the RN married. He was sick he had diabetes and a few other diseases. He eventually ended up using an insulin pump. His wife claims she awoke to find him dead in bed next to her. She called the family dr. and then she called 911. The coroner decided to do an autopsy because he felt she acted strangely when he was there to pronounce him. He felt she was in to much of a hurry to disconnect the insulin pump. Upon doing the autopsy the results of the labs he ran he found that the surgeon had not only insulin in his blood, but also the two following drugs Nimbex and Etomidate. His wife was charged with his murder and found guilty. She claims he committed suicide via his insulin pump with the drugs. I guess my question is couldn't he have done it ? The drugs act differently depending on how they are introduced into the body. How fast they act ect. Also wouldn't it have been much easier for him to have obtained these drugs than her? He knew he was dying, he was seeing a therapist for depression. Is it possible that this woman is innocent? Maybe she was convicted for being an adultress, and the townspeople just can't forgive her for stealing another woman's husband.
