Lupron- Safety of use for Type 2 DiabeticsBy Ron from Dayton, Ohio on March 22, 2006 Category: Leuprolide acetate I have been diagnosed with prostatic cancer. Gleason 7-8. I am a 64 year old male with Type 2 Diabetes that I have been managing with diet and 1500 mg. of Glucophage and Starlix with each meal. My A1C has been in the 5.3 and 5.4 range. I do not know what my testosterone levels are. Research on the web indicates that my blood glucose levels become unmanageable with the use of this drug. I do not want to risk my eyesight for the sake of a quick fix or loose control of my weight. I am using Diovan and Zetia and Synthroid and Diltiazem, all of which keep a good balance in my life. The Lupron has a reputation of raising blood pressure and messing around with glucose levels. Weight gain for a diabetic is dangerous Please advise ASAP if I should risk the use of the Lupron . Best Regards. Ron |
