Polycythemia and Hydroxyurea treatmentBy Alina G on March 03, 2006 Category: Hydroxyurea When is Hydroxyurea used in Polycythemia treatment and can it be avoided. I am curently treated with phlebothomy . All my tests and organ catscan are good . My hematologist told me that he will start me on Hydroxyurea shortly regardless of the results of the bone marrow test. I am very nervous about it, knowing the nature of the medication and the side effects it might have. Please advise and thank you! |
