use of pyridoxine to prevent hand foot syndrome caused by oral chemotherapy

Can Pyridoxine be used to prevent or lessen the effects of hand foot syndrome in chemotherapy patients. Several different chemotherapy agents cause hand foot syndrome as a side effect and there have been suggestions that pyridoxine might decrease those effects. If so, do you know what dose is appropriate? Thank you.
