I'm pregnant now and was on the pill with the recalled lot number!

TriNessa Recall

By Tina McKail from Washington on February 17, 2006
Category: TriNessa (Oral)

I have been on TriNessa since last year thanks to my insurance switching me to this generic brand. I would advise everyone to take a urine pregnancy test regardless of whether you are on your period or not. I am pregnant now and was on the pill with the recalled lot number. I don’t have a clue how far along I am--but have an OB appt next week to be sure. I did not even know I was pregnant until my pharmacist told me about the recall and I decided to buy a urine pregnancy. I would definitely double check if you have been on this medication.

TriNessa recall

Hi,

Where did you find the list of recalled TriNessa? My pharmacist told me today that they'd been recalled and there was some "medical" issue that would stop recurring once usage had stopped, but couldnt' tell me anything else.

Thanks,
Kristin

Recalled because of strength

My Pharmacist only told me Trinessa was recalled because of an issue with its strength... He didnt know if it was too strong or not strong enough. I was thinking it was too strong because it made me nasious alot...but then again if someone got pregnant while taking trinessa it could be too low...

Trinessa recall and lot numbers

My pharmacist told me that Trinessa was recalled because the pills weren't to their full potency. If you got pregnant on that Lot you should sue! What were the Lot#'s anyways?

Looking For The Recall Numbers For Trinessa

I WAS TRYING TO FILL MY TRINESSA PRESCRIPTION BUT MY PHARMASIST SAID IT WAS RECALLED BECAUSE THE POTENCY WAS NOT STRONG ENOUGH. WHY DIDN’T ANYONE LET US KNOW IT WAS RECALLED!! I HOPE I AM NOT PREGNANT NOW. I CAN’T AFFORD IT. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE LOT NUMBERS OF THE ONES RECALLED?

You can't sue because you got pregnant

You can't sue because you got pregnant- that is always a chance you take when using the pill. If you read all the fine print, it says that it is not 100% effective (nothing is) but that you can decrease your chance of pregnancy by using the pill along with another method of contraceptive. If anyone did try to sue, you would not get past your lawyer's front door!

You CAN sue!

Not true u can sue. The indicated amount on the package was not what the pill contained therefore there are grounds for lawsuit.

I just found out I am pregnant while on this pill!

I have been on this pill for about 10 months. (about a month after I had my daughter) Now she is 11 months old and I just found out I am pregant again while on this pill. I went to refill my prescription and when I got home I notice that my pharmicist had gave me a different birth control than usual. I immediately called him and thats when he told me that trinessa had been recalled and had to give me something different. I decided to take pregancy test a week later, after not even started my period. Us women go the pill for different reasons and one of them being that we don't want tp get pregant, and to find out that you are when it's just not the right time, is an emotional rollercoaster.

Trinessa pregnancy

I switched BC pills from Ortho Tricyclen to Trinessa back in Feb (2006) and I recently found out that I am pregnant. My pharmacy filled this script on 2/10 and later found out that they did not received information on the recall until 2/16. Not only did my Dr not inform me of a recall, but my pharmacy did not contact me to warn me! I was completely left in the dark for 2 months! Plus I refilled my script in March and was given pills from one of the recall lots (the number on my pill case matched one of the recall lot #s)! I am interested in taking this to the legal arena.

Please write in if you are in the same situation beacuse it would be very helpful - especially if you are interested in bringing suit.

No Information

Hi, Thanks for posted this recall information. Like many others i decided to go on Trinessa because my insurance covered it. I also have pills on the recall list. I was so upset that i did not know about this, so i called my insurance company and my doctor and neither of them knew about this recall. The nurse at my Doctor's office didn't even believe me because they hadn't heard of this recall. I told her to visit the FDA site, and she said she didn't have time for all that. I think this is very scary especially since Doctors don't even know.

I got pregnant while taking TriNessa

I was taking Trinessa, but was never notified of the recall, until i happen to stumble upon on the internet. And of course now i'm pregnant. If i would have known about the recall i would have kept my packets. Now i'm not sure if I was taking any from the recall list. Is there a way I can find out that info. Does the pharmacist keep that information?

Pregnant while taking Trinessa

I found out almost eight months ago that I was pregnant while taking this pill. My pharmacist told me they could not verify whether or not I received my pills from any of the recalled lots. She did admit, however, that they took all recalled pills off the shelf as soon as they were notified. I asked why they hadn't thought to notify those of us who were taking the pills, and she had no response except that they do not keep track of who gets the different lot numbers. In the meantime, I am now about to give burth to a little girl, at 40 years of age, with a 51 year old husband who almost divorced me over this. I would iike to find out if there is a class-action law suit or anything going for those of us who are in this situation. It has torn my family apart for months, and I am only now able to even think about this. This baby will be loved, but it has been a VERY long road, and one which I did not have any desire to travel down.

Pregnant on Trinessa 28S

PREGNANT NOW!!! On Trinessa!!!

I JUST found out today(8/7/07) that I got pregnant, while very faithfully taking Trinessa!!!!!

I was on it since May of 2005 and was switched temperarily because of the recall in 2006...

I am almost positive that I ovulated my last 4-5 cycles since they put me back on Trinessa at the beginning of this year again, like the pill had absolutely NO affect!! Like I have been taking a sugar pill!!!

BE VERY CAREFUL WOMEN!!! Call your doctors TODAY to switch!!!

Robin
