TriNessa recalldid not effect me By Donna from Overland Park, KS on February 16, 2006 Category: TriNessa (Oral) I am also very concerned about the recall, but I am currently on my period so I doubt that the effectiveness of the pill is in question. However, the unknown is troubling because it could be bad for a woman's health. |
trinessa recallI have been on the birth control pill trinessa for 8 months. I found out two weeks ago that we were expecting again. A week after we found out we received a phone call that trinessa was recalled for insufficient hormone levels. VOLUME OF PRODUCT IN COMMERCE 1,383,709/6 packs DISTRIBUTION Nationwide March 09, 2006 | Reply | Pregnant from recallI've been on birth control for 5 years FAITHFULLY and was switched to Trinessa about a year ago. I've had zero problems with them until the recall. I refilled my pack of pills on January 25th and took the entire pack. When I called in to refill for the following month, the pharmacist told me they had been recalled and to wait to hear back from him. After looking back, the lot number on the pack I had bought back in January was in fact part of the lot numbers that had been recalled. I took a pregnancy test since my period was late and low and behold....I'm pregnant. Not quite sure how far along I am but I'm waiting for an appt with the OB. I really was bothered by this because I'm always so careful, hence why I take birth control pills. I'm married but have only been married for 2 months, and now we have a little one on the way. Something tells me this is far from a coincidence.... By Jessica from South Florida on March 23, 2006 | Reply | I didn't know about the recallI never knew of the recall. I've called and refilled my script every month for the last year now. I'm concerned that perhaps one of my earlier scripts this year was part of the recall and I was never informed. And to top things off, when my boyfriend was here this month to visit, we didn't use a second form of birth control. And now, (according to websites I've been directed to, and a good friend whose been pregnant before) I'm showing possible signs I might be pregnant. Needless to say, this is very concerning to me (and my boyfriend) now. By Seanaci from Denver, CO on March 29, 2006 | Reply | tri-nessaThis makes me angry... My pharmacy didn’t even say why it was recalled. I don’t like the tri-sprintec as anytime I’ve been on it I seem to have increased suceptibility for yeast infections. Tri-nessa seemed to be working well for me. I’ve been on it for about a year. THANK GOODNESS my bf and I use condoms as well as BC. This is very distrubing...esp that those who bought Tri-nessa within that time frame were not notified. Brand name versions need to come back down in price. :( By AY from DC area on April 03, 2006 | Reply | Trinessa recallI am now about 10 weeks pregnant after using the recalled lot #'s of Trinessa. It's very frustruating because I was religious about taking my pills, I went to the pharmacist today and they said it was only re-called b/c Watson Pharmaceuticals had put wrong expiration dates on the packages, but that they retained their effectivess. I think it seems like too much of a coincidence also and wondering what we can do! I contacted the FDA and they said I could only put the drug on medwatch.. sigh. Anyone else have any other suggestions? By Alicia Brown from Denver, CO on April 09, 2006 | Reply | I can relateI didnt know about the recall, in fact i got a prescription of Tri-Nessa filled in April of this year. But however i was on it for a month and Now its June and I havent got my period yet. I havent been on birth control since November and i came on my period faithfully since i tried this bc i havent been too good. Your situation is similiar to mine i came to visit and my partner and i hand sex..im worried a little bit about it but im tryin not to let it stress me out. By drea from winston-salem, nc on June 03, 2006 | Reply | TriNessa RecallI didnt know about the recall until i came to this site. I came to this site looking for possible side effects of TriNessa because I just got another period... Only 5 days after my regular one. Now I'm worried that i was effected in the recall. What makes this even worse is that I dont even have any of my old packs of pills. I did however check the pack that i just started 8 days ago and it isnt effected in the recall, luckily. I'm deffinetly getting a pregnancy test tomorrow to make sure! If I'm not pregnant, I'm calling my doctor to switch my birth control now. By Tina from New Hampshire on June 11, 2006 | Reply | WAS considering TriNessaMy doctor recently switched me to Ortho-Tri-Cyclen to which the generic is TriNessa. I got online to read about both birth controls so that I could decided whether to take the brand name or generic. Thank you for this message board because you've greatly helped in my decision. My husband and I have one child and do not want a second. I'm sure many of you who had gotten pregnant from this are very upset....as you should be. So I think I will play it safe and go with Ortho-Tri-Cyclen. By Sue from Dayton, Ohio on July 18, 2006 | Reply | if TriNessa was recalled why is it still able to be prescribedMy girlfriend has been on birth control for about 2 months and her first month they gave her some generic brand then this month she had Tri-Nessa and shes late and i was looking up things on goggle about it seeing if something was wrong and i find out its being recalled... are ALL Tri-Nessa birthcontrol being recalled or what, and if its just a certain # where can i find it. Someone please give me some good news, im 20 years old and not looking to have children anytime soon and im under enough stress. By Jeff from Jersey on August 21, 2006 | Reply | Tricare / Triwest and TriNessaI was taking a low dose b/c for 5 years and then was switched to Ortho-Tricyclin due to constant bleeding. Unfornately I am a Navy wife and have Triwest as my insurance provider. They went ahead and decided to give me the generic (TriNessa). Cheap bastards. My physician informed me that generic versions only have to have eighty percent of the active ingredient of their brand name. So basically the laws (which are decided on by people with decent health insurance) say that it is legal for your generic drug to have only eighty percent of your prescribed medication. What the hell?! I also had no idea about the recall, I only found out because I happened upon this site while looking for info on side effects. Thank god I don't have the recalled lot numbers. I have one child and have been dealing with major post partum depression for over a year. I can't have another baby right now. Thank you to whoever runs this! By Kristen from North of the Mojave, South of Death Valley on September 23, 2006 | Reply | Pregnant with Baby 2 and TriNessa recallI have been taking the Birth Control pill Trinessa and got pregnant off of it. After having my son only seven months ago we have been extra careful. I set an alarm on our cell phone to take the pill at the same time every day and I even cut down sex with my husband (and we are newlyweds). I am just so mad that my pharmacist didn't tell me about the recall. I found out after I wind up pregnant again. Oh well what can we do? May 11, 2007 | Reply | Write a Reply |
