Effects of Gabapentin

Dear sir ,

Today i visited my surgeon in watford because of my post hernia surgery . he advised me that i have trapped nerve in groin area where hernia repair had been performed.

As he prescribed me GABAPENTIN . 300 mg to be taken one per day.

As i was going through side effects of this medicine i am seeking your advise and also will it work for my pain ?
