my wife's fingers turn white and numb in cold weather, the doctor said it could be RS. She prescribed Nifedical xl. Will this drug help her, and what does drug do? I don't know that much about this medication but would like to know any long term effects or other issues we should be concerned with.

Thank you

Raynauds syndrome and nifedical xl

I've been taking Nifedical XL for my Raynaud's since the beginning of winter and it works fine--my fingers did not turn white and numb this winter. Nifedical is usually prescribed for high blood pressure--it lowers the blood pressure in blood vessels allowing more blood to pass through--actually opening some vessels in the fingers, toes, so these areas of the body do not exhibit Raynaud's condition.

Side effects? I don't know of any.

regards,
bruno
