Missed dose/emergency on call

We recently had an incident in which a patient did not have their 9:00 PM dose of Creon 10 in their cart drawer. The nurse on duty called the pharmacist indicating that the possibility that a patient may miss a dose is an emergency that required the pharmacist to travel to the pharmacy after hours to provide the meds.
As the Director of Pharmacy, I made a cost conscious decision that it was not worth $50 (extra on call pay per hour if a pharmacist has to go to the pharmacy after hours); when the patient could take two tablets at the next dose.
What is your opinion? Was there any real danger to the patient in waiting.? The patient was admitted to the hospital on this drug so has been on it a while.
