Taking Pills out of order

Not really paying attention, when I recieved my new pill pack for the month I mindlessly started with Week 3 rather than Week 1. I didn't realize I was taking them out of order until the end of the first week. I'm now in the middle of Week 2. My question is if this is an issue, or if I should be using back-up protection until next month? Do the pills have special formulas for each week or does this really matter?

Thanks!
Michelle

Use back-up birth control pills for sure!

yes, each week has its own formula designed to coincide with your natural hormone amounts which is what makes the pill work the way it does. i highly suggest you use backup because the week 3 dose is the heaviest at that time of your cycle for a reason--week 1 is the lowest dose and may not be effective enough to prevent pregnancy.
