Infant use of DiastatBy Shawn P from Crossville, TN on January 20, 2006 Category: Diastat Pediatric (Rectal) We serve an infant in an inclusive child care setting. Her family has sent Diastat rectuals for her cluster seizures. We are to use it if she has so many within an hour. I noticed on your warnings sheet that it is not for daily use. What are some precautions and warning signs that she is getting too much? She has several health problems (seizures & blindness are just 2). We are concerned we may miss an allergic reaction or serious problem due to her preexisting conditions. What are some recommendations you could make to aid us in her care and use of the medications? Thank you, Shawn P |
