Is adderall right for me?

I’ve been struggling with the symptoms related to ADD/ADHD for my whole life. These symptoms have gone disregarded as "troubled child", impatient, etc. You can name an excuxe and I’ve heard it. Over a year ago I began taking prescription medication to see if that would help my situation. My condition has plagued my work, social, and family life to the point where I deemed it necessary to take action. Anti-depressants were the first round (Zoloft, Paxil, Lexapro, Wellbutrin, etc.) and none of them seemed to help. My doctor moved on to Strattera which I believe is a non-stimulant, also a failure. I’ve heard heated debates about the use of stimulant drugs like Adderall and whether or not they should be considered. I’d really like a professional prospective, my doctor of several years has moved out of state and it feels like I’m starting over. And before you suggest a few other ideas, I’ve tried the therapy, counseling, diet and exercise change, blah blah blah, and none of it is working to my satisfaction. Any info would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you so much for your time.

Patrick
