interaction between marcaine and parnate?By susan baiter from stamford, CT on January 16, 2006 Category: Marcaine HCl (Injection) I am experiencing frequent neck pain, on the the right side, the more so after the third Parnate (each is 10mg, for a total of 30 per day), an MAO inhibitor, that I take each day, having begun taking this anti-depressant again a few months ago, two years after I thought I no longer needed it and was off the medicine. During the earlier time I'd taken Parnate, I had no neck pain, but now It's a side effect that won't go away, though I'd been on 30 mg before. I'd like to know if having marcaine injected as a pain killer anyplace in my neck or back ( in lieu of epinephrine which I know I can't have with an MAO inhibitor) would be as unsafe as epinephrine for fear of stroke, etc. I also wonder about whether this is safe for a dentist to inject into the gum on that same (right) side, now that I've developed this constant pain which I didn't have when I last needed to have the dentist give me an injection. I do not get much relief from taking Neurontin either and wonder how many folks report to you about the frequency of this neck pain when using Parnate, in case you have others there who might be able to addresss this question as well. Thank you for your response. |
