Dosage IntervalsBy R Carter from Mt. Pleasant, SC on January 16, 2006 Category: Novolog FlexPen (Injection) My husband just started with the Novolog Flexpen. He takes a dose right before breakfast around 9 and then before dinner around 6. Thus he has 9 hrs from the first dose to the second of a day. Then he has 15 hours overnight. I am wondering if it would be better to take the dinner dose after dinner - ie closer to 7 pm to make the intervals between dosages more similar. So far he has had a poor response with the Nov.. Flexpen - averaging 155-167 fasting glucose in the morning. Previously he was on Lantus and was getting in the 130's at least half the time. Our doctor thinks his fasting glucose should get down to close to 100. As of now he is going in the wrong direction. Any thoughts? Thank you, R Carter |
