Bra talk

Now let’s talk intimate, so much about the scary stuff. Let’s talk about one of my favorite inventions in the world – the bra. Choosing and buying the correct size of bra will not only make you look and feel good, it will generally do you good.

There are countless of reasons why, first it support your breasts properly as you develop and as you go through changes such as childbirth or when getting older.

Second, the wrong bra can cause shoulder, neck and back tension, lead to sagging breasts, as well as uncomfortable bulges around your breasts and upper arms.

If you are buying your first bra or your breast size has changed, due to pregnancy or weight changes, ask a trained fitter to help you select a bra for you. But on your own, here are some things to look out for when trying on one:

  • Wires should not dig in or gap.
  • Bands should lie close to the body and should be at the same level at the front and back.
  • Shoulder straps must fit closely to the body without cutting in. They should be able to let your breasts stay in place when you raise your arms above your head.
  • Cups must be high at the sides to cover the breast. It should have no bulging out of the side or top.

Remember, your breasts are your assets. As a woman, they not only give curves to your body but also life to your baby. So stand proud, chest out, and be sure to keep those assets under check!
