Possibility of seizures from Pancof PD?By Crystal Hoisager from Crosby, Texas on January 13, 2006 Category: Pancof PD (Oral) My daughter Emily is three and was diagnosed with a respiratory infection for which she was prescribed an antibiotic and the Pancof PD. She took her medicine one night, all day and the following morning. That morning we were waking and she had a seizure for the first time. She had no fever at the time and has otherwise been a healthy child. We have been to the ER, given the whole account had been diagnosed a seiziure. The EKG and chest xray came back normal. We have since seen our regular doctor and had an MRI which preliminary results have also come back normal. We have yet to do an EEG and see the neurologist. I am just curious if this could have just been some sort of reaction to a medication that she has not ever had before. She was congested last Monday night late and I gave her the cough medicine again and she could have possibly had another small episode at school on Tuesday morning in which they made me come pick her up but I was not there for that and the details were sketchy. That is what made me start to consider the possiblity of the medicine. She has been fine and back to her normal behavior at all other times. We contine to watch her and I have not given her the Pancof PD again just as a precaution, not having really any idea at all what is going on with her, but have not had the opportunity to ask anyone either. |
