Trinessa Heavy Period and Sex Drive Side Effects?

I have been on BC for 10 years and about a year ago was switched from Ortho-Tricyclen to TriNessa. Last weekend i went out of town and forgot to take my pills Friday and Saturday, but did take the one on Sunday. Sunday was the start of the 2nd week. I now have a very heavy period, and i have not had this problem before, when i forgot 2 days in a row. is it because it was during the 1st week? is this normal?

Also, i was completly off birth control awhile back for about a month, and my sex drive increased substantially! like i said i have been on them for 10 years so i guess i never noticed, but then i got back on them and it is once again where it has always been which is not that exciting. is this a side effect of all birth control? can i switch to a different kind?
